When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect.

~Aldo Leopold 1886-1948

Bodega Land Trust was established in 1992 by a small group of ranchers who, like Aldo Leopold, saw the realization of community in a shared love of the land. As new technologies increasingly influence the pace and patterns of our daily lives, Bodega Land Trust helps anchor us to a physical place – engaging us with the land and its natural and agricultural systems. From its origins in the town of Bodega, the Trust has focused its efforts on protecting the local area roughly defined by the Sonoma Coast from Jenner to the Estero Americano and the watersheds of Salmon Creek and Dutch Bill Creek, a tributary of the Russian River.

Our mission is to support and preserve the health and diversity of the various communities to which we belong.
